San Francico Bay Trail

South San Francisco, San Bruno and Brisbane have a large section of the San Francisco Bay Trail located along the shoreline of the bay. The Bay Side area of Brisbane is home to many large high tech corporations and the Bay Trail offers a great place for a lunchtime stroll or a quick way to get to the airport.

The Bay Trail offers views of the boats in the marina and sailing out on the bay, views across the bay to Alameda Island, the Oakland skyline and the Highway 92 bridge. You can also watch the jet planes landing and taking off from the San Francisco International Airport.

The north end of this section is located at Sierra Point to the east of Highway 101. There is a paved path that wraps around Sierra Point, going past the City of Brisbane Marina and then to the south going through the greenspace next to the corporate office buildings. The trail continues along the shoreline of Oyster Point and goes past Point San Bruno Park.

Eventually the Bay Trail follows alongside S. Airport Road. Just north of the airport, the trail splits and one branch heads to the east to wrap around the peninsula with the loading docks and stopping at N. Access Road. The other branch heads west and goes under the on and off ramps for the airport interchange with Highway 101. The trail takes you right past the airport parking then over the bridge for San Bruno Avenue.
