The communities of Rodeo, Hercules and Pinole are located on the southeast side of San Pablo Bay at the north end of San Francisco Bay in Central California. These communities are located along Interstate 80, across the Carquinez Bridge from the City of Vallejo and just north of Richmond.

Point Pinole Regional Shoreline Trails

Point Pinole Regional Shoreline is a scenic 2,315-acre area located on the south end of Pinole. The park is located on a section of land that juts out into San Pablo Bay. There are beautiful views of San Pablo Bay to the north, Marin County to the west and the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge across San Francisco Bay to the south.

There are several trails located in Point Pinole Regional Shoreline that take you along the shoreline, across grassy meadows and eucalyptus groves or out to the pier that extends into the bay.

Refugio Valley Park Jogging Path

The Refugio Valley Park Jogging Path is located on the east side of Hercules. The winding paved path travels along side Refugio Valley Road for 2.5 miles. The east end of the trail is located near the intersection with Bonaire Avenue. The path then wanders in and out of groves of trees and grassy stretches through this linear parkway. The west end ot the path is at Sycamore Avenue and Refugio Valley Road where it wraps around the lake.

Along its route, the Refugio Valley Park Jogging Path goes by Hanna Ranch Elementary School, Hanna Park, Hercules Community Swim Center, Hercules Middle & High School and the Refugio Valley Tennis Courts.

Pinole Creek Trail

The Pinole Creek Trail is a paved path that travels 1.5 miles from a point on Pinole Valley Road just west of Interstate 80 out to the shoreline of San Pablo Bay. The trail passes Collins Elementary School and Fernandez Park. The west end of Pinole Creek Trail is located at the shoreline near Bayfront Park. There is another stretch of trail that heads north along the shoreline. There are paths on both side of the creek with a few bridges for crossing the creek.

Duck Pond Park Trails

Duck Pond Park is located on Sycamore Avenue in Hercules. There are a couple miles of paved trails for getting some exercise. The park is across the street from Frog Pad Park with playground and grassy areas.
