Allen is a city located to the east of Dallas and just north of Plano in northeastern Texas. The City of Allen is situated to the south of Route 121 and north of Chaparral Road between Custer Road and Angel Parkway

This part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan area has numerous recreational trails for bike riding, running and walking. Many of the trails wander through the natural areas and parks along local creeks, other trails follow alongside the major roadways or wrap around large parks.

Rowlett Creek Trail

The Rowlett Creek Trail is a system of paved pathways located to the south of the Sam Rayburn Tollway and just west of Custer Road. The trails go past residential areas near Ridgeview Drive and Exchange Parkway and wander through the Twin Creeks Golf Course.

Watters Creek Trail

The Watters Creek Trail is a system of paved pathways located to the south of Ridgeview Drive and extends to the south of Bethany Drive. The trails wander through the natural areas along Watters Creek, going past residential neighborhoods. The trail goes through Waterford Park and the Dayspring Nature Preserve

Cottonwood Creek Trail (North & South)

The Cottonwood Creek Trail is a system of paved pathways that exists in two sections. The northerly section lies just south of the Sam Rayburn Tollway and crosses under the Central Expressway ending at Allen Station Park. The southerly section is located to the south of Main Street and goes past Ford Park. The southern portion of the Cottonwood Creek Trail also connects to the Mustang Creek Trail to the north of Chaparral Road.

Mustang Creek Trail

The Mustang Creek Trail is a system of paved pathways located near Allen Heights Drive. The trails go past Reed Park, Shadow Lakes Park, Bethany Lakes Park, Bethany Ridge Park, and connect to the Cottonwood Creek Trail.

Celebration Park

Celebration Park is located along Angel Parkway at Clear Springs Drive. The park has a 1.5-mile long paved loop around its perimeter as well as athletic fields, tennis courts and a large playground.

Allen Station Park

Allen Station Park is located along N. Cedar Drive to the south of E. Exchange Parkway. The park has athletic fields and a system of paved pathways. It is located along The Cottonwood Creek Trail.
