The Campion Trail consists of a 6.5-mile long paved pathway and a 5.8-mile long paved pathway located in Irving, Texas to the northwest of Dallas. These pathways are located in a 22-mile long greenbelt with plans for expanding the trail system. The northern section spans between between Cimarron Trail and E. Las Colinas Boulevard next to Valley Ranch Parkway E. to the intersection of E. Las Colinas Boulevard and Riverside Drive. The southern stretch spans between Trinity View Park and MacArthur Boulevard, going through Mountain Creek Preserve.
The trails go through the natural areas and numerous parks alongside the Elm Fork and the West Fork of the Trinity River. This area includes small lakes, meadows and wooded areas. The trail connects to local recreational trails that head into the residential areas.
Conditions
The Campion Trail has a 12' wide paved pathway for the entire route. The trail is open for bike riding, running and walking. The route is away from roads and traffic and the trail goes under Interstate 265, Royal Lane and W. Northwest Highway.

The Campion Trail connects to several of the local recreational trails in the Irving & Northwest Dallas area. At its north end, the trail connects to a local recreational trail that wanders through the Valley Ranch neighborhood along the canals.
Lone Star Trail: the west end of the Campion Trail allows a connection to the multi-use path alon W. Hunter Ferrell Road which connects to the Lone Star Trail.
End Points
There are two separate section of the Campion Trail with a long gap in between.
The northerly section is 6.5-miles long. The north end of this section is located along Valley Ranch Parkway E. just north of Cimarron Trail. There is parking available along Cimarron Trail. The south end of this section is located near the intersection of E. Las Colinas Boulevard and Riverside Drive. There is parking available at California Crossing Park at this end.
The southerly section of the trail is 5.8-miles long. The north end of this section is located just north of Trinity View Park to the north of E. State Highway 356. Parking is available in the park. The trail goes through Mountain Creek Preserve off of E. Hunter Ferrell Road. The western end of the trail is located along MacArthur Boulevard at W. Hunter Ferrell Road.
