The Poudre Trail is a 10-mile long paved pathway that is located in Bellvue, Laporte and Fort Collins in North Central Colorado. The trail travels through the natural areas alongside the Poudre River as it crosses the north side of the Fort Collins area. the northwest end of the trail is located in the small community of Bellvue, then the trail travels past ponds and farmland before going right through Downtown Fort Collins. The southeast end of the Poudre Trail is located at the CSU Environmental Learning Center off of Drake Road.

The route includes several parks and allows for connections to other recreational trails in the area. The Poudre Trail does not have a connection to the Poudre River Trail in Weld County.

Conditions

The Poudre Trail is paved for the entire route. The trail is open for bike riding, running and walking. Much of the trail is away from traffic and congestion and there are underpasses for many of the major road crossings. A few of the road crossings in the downtown area require some sharp turns and ramps.

Spring Creek Trail: the two trails intersect at the Cattail Chorus Natural Area to the northeast of the intersection of E. Prospect Road and S. Timberline Road. the Spring Creek Trail heads west form this location and crosses Fort Collins. The Spring Creek Trail allows a connection to the Power Trail, the Mason Trail and the Fossil Creek Trail.

End Points

The northwest end of the Poudre Trail is located along Rist Canyon Road near the entrance Watson Lake in Bellvue.

The southeast end of the trail is located at the CSU Environmental Learning Center along S. County Road 9 near where E. Drake Road turns into Ziegler Road in Fort Collins.
