Regional Trails

The Boulder Creek Path is an 8.1 mile long unpaved and paved pathway that follows Boulder Creek from Boulder Canyon, past the CU campus and to the east side of Boulder. The trail is used by commuters going to work or to school and local residents out for some exercise. The route includes some of the busiest areas of the city. The trail has many twists and turns and can be congested, but it provides a vital link for the students and the locals for getting about town on bike or on foot.

The trail starts with a two mile stretch in Boulder Canyon, a portion of which is unpaved, then it reaches Eben G. Fine Park on the west edge of the City of Boulder. The trail then travels through some of the busiest areas of Boulder, just south of the Pearl Street Mall and past Boulder High School and the campus of the University of Colorado. Eventually the trail reaches the grasslands on the east side of Boulder and goes past other local parks.

The Boulder Creek Path intersects other recreational trails along its route, including the Broadway Path, the Skunk Creek Trail, the Foothills Path and the trails of Valmont Park.

Conditions

The Boulder Creek Trail is unpaved on the very west end within Boulder Canyon, but the remainder of the trail is paved. The trail is open for bike riding, walking and running.
