Recreational trails for walking, running and cycling in Kingsport, Tennessee
Kingsport is located in Northeast Tennessee just south of the border with Kentucky. The city is situated along the South Fork Holston River and is 20 miles northwest of Johnson City.
Kingsport Greenbelt
The city has a recreational trail system called the Kingsport Greenbelt that spans for over 5 miles. The trail follows Reddy Creek and goes past a number of local parks and connects communities and commercial areas. The pathway is open for bike riding and walking and provides a wonderful way to get some exercise and enjoy the natural areas along the creek.
Most of the trail is located away from roadways and there are underpasses for many of the street crossings.

The west end of the Kingsport Greenbelt is located at Riverwoods Place off of Netherland Inn Road where the North Fork Holston River flows into the South Fork Holston River. There is a gap in the trail system around W. Sullivan Road where trail users will need to use local streets to reach the next section. The eastern end of the trail is located along Orebank Road to the east of Mitchell Road.
