Regional Trails

The Tomorrow River State Trail is a 29-mile long unpaved trail located in Central Wisconsin. The trail goes through the countryside connecting the communities of Plover, Amherst Junction, Scandinavia, Ogdensburg and Manawa. The Tomorrow River State Trail was constructed along an abandoned railroad right-of-way that heads cross country and much of the route is lined with trees. The trail goes through wide open farmland, across wetlands and rivers and through thickly wooded sections.

Conditions

The Tomorrow River State Trail has a surface of compacted crushes limestone. The trail has few major road crossings and the route is away from major roads for the most part. The trail is open for hiking, bike riding and dog walking. Horseback riding is permitted in certain sections. A Wisconsin State Trail pass is required for cyclists over the age of 16.

The Tomorrow River State Trail goes past the following communities: Plover, Arnott, Fancher, Amherst Junction, Amherst, Scandinavia, Ogdensburg and Manawa

End Points

The western end of the Tomorrow River State Trail is located on Hoover Road south of Cedar Drive on the southeast side of Plover. Plover is south of Stevens Point in the center part of Wisconsin. The Hoover Road Trail intersects with the Tomorrow River State Trail at this location which is just east of Woyak Park.

From Plover, the trail heads to the east going past open farmland and through some densely wooded section. There is a break in the trail at Amherst Junction where trail users must use surface streets to get to the next section. The trail starts up again at Aim Road.

The eastern end of the Tomorrow River State Trail is located just east of the community of Manawa.
