Regional Trails

The Olentangy Greenway Trail is a system of paved pathways that follow the Olentangy River as it meanders through the northern part of the Columbus Metro area in Central Ohio. The trails stretch for over 12 miles of the Columbus area and go past numerous parks, golf courses, commercial areas, the Ohio State University campus and residential neighborhoods. The route spans from Worthington Hills Park to the confluence of the Olentangy and Scotio Rivers on the north side of Downtown Columbus.

The Olentangy Greenway Trail is a section of the Ohio to Erie Trail which is a system of designated trails and roadways that stretch from Cincinnati to Cleveland.


The Olentangy Greenway Trail is paved for the entire route. Many of the trails are located in the various parks along the river. There are underpasses at most of the major road crossings. Much of the trail is located away from traffic and congestion. The trail is open for non-motorized activitiy such as bike riding, running and walking.

There is a gap in the trail to either side of E. N. Broadway where trail users need to use local streets to reach the next section.

Scotio Greenway Trail: the two trails meet at the south end of the Olentangy Greenway Trail at W. Spring Street and the W. Innerbelt on the northwest side of Downtown Columbus.

End Points

The north end of the Olentangy Greenway Trail is located at Worthington Hills Park near Olentangy Freeway and Clubview Boulevard in Columbus.

The south end of the trail is located at W. Spring Street to the east of the W. Inerbelt in Columbus.
