The Danvers Rail Trail and Topsfield Linear Common are located in Northeastern Massachusetts. The 11-miles of mostly unpaved trails are located along an abandoned railroad corridor that goes past the residential neighborhoods and natural areas of Danvers and Topsfield. Much of the trail is lined with trees and the trail goes over wetlands and through thick woodlands.

Conditions

The Danvers Rail Trail and Topsfield Linear Common are not paved. The trails are open for bike riding, walking and running. Much of the route is away from traffic.

End Points

The north end of the trail system is located at a point just east of Interstate 95 to the northwest of Haverhill Road Conservation Area in Topsfield. There is no access to this end point other than the trail itself. There is parking at the conservation area at 124 Haverhill Road.

The south end of the trail system is located at Lowell Street, just west of Interstate 95 in Peabody.

Nearby Trails

The Independence Greenway is located to the south of the Danvers Rail Trail. Connections can be made along Johnson Street or Lowell Street in Peabody.
