The Eastern Trail consists of two separate sections of paved and unpaved pathways located to the southwest of Portland in Eastern Maine. The southern section is 6 miles long and the other is 8.2 miles long.

These sections of separate trail are portions of the Eastern Trail Greenway a partially developed transportation-recreation greenway connecting Kittery, in southernmost Maine, to Casco Bay in South Portland.

Conditions

The Eastern Trail has paved and unpaved sections. The trail is open for bike riding, running and walking. There is a 3.3-mile gap in the trail through Biddeford and Saco where trails users will need to use local streets to reach the next section.

Communities

The Eastern Trail goes through the following communities: Kennebunk, Biddeford, Saco and Scarborough.

End Points

The southwest end of the southern section is located along Alewive Road at Warrens Way in Kennebuck. The northeast end of this section is located off of W. Cole Road to the south of Alfred Street in Biddeford.

The southwest end of the northern section is located along Clark Street south of Nott Street in Saco. The northeast end of this section is located on Eastern Road to the west of Black Point Road in Scarborough.
