Spanish Moss Trail

The Spanish Moss Trail is a 9.2-mile long and 12-wide paved pathway that spans between Beaufort and Port Royal to the north of Pritchardville. The trail follows the route of an abandoned railroad right-of-way and travels through rural communities and the marshland of the estuary, also referred to as the "Lowlands".

There are excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and the trail lives up to its name as it wanders past trees draped with Spanish Moss. The south end of the trail provides access to the historic Port Royal community with plans for extending the trail to Sand Beach.
