Regional Trails

State College is a borough located in Centre County in central Pennsylvania. The city is located along Interstate 99 and is home to Pennsylvania State University. Other communities in this area include Lemont, Waddle, Pine Grove Mills and Park Forest Village.

The community of State College has numerous recreational trails that follow alongside major roadways as well as trails that wonder through natural areas, local residential neighborhoods and parks.

Bellefonte Central Rail Trail

The Bellefonte Central Rail Trail is a 1.3-mile long paved and unpaved pathway that spans between Toftrees Golf Course and The Arboretum at Penn State. The trail's route is well away from roads and passes through natural areas, farmland, residential neighborhoods and the golf course.

The southern 1.7-miles of the Bellefonte Central Rail Trail is paved with asphalt. The northern section is not paved, but portions of it have a compacted crushed stone surface.
