Regional Trails

The Holmes County Trail is a 15.4-mile long paved pathway that spans between Killbuck and Fredericksburg in Central Ohio. The trail was build along an abandoned railroad corridor and travels through beautiful Central Ohio countryside passing farms, woodlands and rural communities. This is the heart of the Amish Community in Ohio.

The Holmes County Trail is a section ofthe Ohio to Erie Trail system than spans between Cincinnati and Cleveland. The closest trails in the system are the Mohican Valley Trail, to the southwest, and the Sippo Valley Trail to the north east. Trail users must use local roads to reach these other sections of the Ohio to Erie Trail.


The Holmes County Trail is paved for the entire route and is open for bike riding, running and walking.


The Holmes County Trail goes past the following communities: Killbuck, Millersburg, Holmesville and Fredericksburg.

End Points

The southwest end of the Holmes County Trail is located along Main Street to the northwest of the Amish Country Byway in Killbuck.

The northeast end of the trail is located at W. Clay Street to the southwest of S. Mill Street in Fredericksburg.
