Regional Trails

The Shingle Creek Regional Trail is an 8.4-mile long paved pathway that is located in the northeast quadrant of the Minneapolis - St. Paul metro area. The trail spans between Brooklyn Park and Brooklyn Center and goes past local parks and residential neighborhoods. 

The Shingle Creek Trail connects to other recreational trails in the area and is often used by people commuting to work or to school. The south end of the trail meets up with the Shingle Creek Trail which then connects to the paved trail of the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway that wraps around much of Minneapolis.

Conditions

The Shingle Creek Regional Trail is paved for the entire route. The trail is open for bike riding, running and walking. Much of the northern portion of the trail follows alongside Noble Parkway or Xerxes Avenue N. The southern section is located in natural areas between residential neighborhoods. There are underpasses and overpasses for some of the major road crossings.

Rush Creek Regional Trail: the two trails intersect along Noble Parkway, 1/4 mile north of 101st Avenue N. in Brooklyn Park. There is also a multi-use pathway alongside Noble Parkway to the north from this location.

Shingle Creek Trail: the two trails meet in Lions Park in Brooklyn Center. The Shingle Creek Trail then meets up with the trails of the Grand Rounds Scenic Byway.

End Points

The north end of the Shingle Creek Regional Trail is located along Noble Parkway, 1/4 mile north of 101st Avenue N. in Brooklyn Park.

The south end of the trail is located at Lions Park in Brooklyn Center. The park is located along Russel Avenue N near 55th Avenue N.
