The I-275 Metro Trail is a 36.2-mile long paved pathway that follows alongside Interstate 275 through much of the western side of the Detriot Metro area. The trail stretches from Novi to Carleton and connects multiple communities. The I-275 Metro Trail intersects several other recreational trails along the way and crosses multiple major thoroughfares. It is used frequently by those commuting to work or to school by bike. The trail goes past numerous office complexes and commercial districts.

Conditions

The I-275 Metro Trail is paved for the entire route. The trail is open for bike riding, running and walking. there are street level crossings at many major roadways.

Meadowbrook Road Multi-Use Path: the north end of the I-275 Metro Trail intersects the paved multi-use path that follows alongside Meadowbrook Road.

Hines Park Trail: the two trails share the route from Route 14 and Edward N. Hines Drive to Newburgh Lake in Plymouth.

Lower Rouge River Trail: the two trails meet just north of the interchange with Michigan Avenue in Canton.

Downriver Linked Greenways East-West Trail: the two trails meet at a point 0.6 miles south of Huron River Drive in Huron Charter Township.

End Points

The north end of the I-275 Metro Trail is located along Meadowbrook Road, just south Interstate 69 in Novi.

The south end of the trail is located at E. Will Carlton Drive to the west side of the interchange with Interstate 275.
