Recreational trails for walking, running and cycling in Le Mars, Iowa
Le Mars is located in Plymouth County on the far western side of Iowa, 23 miles northeast of Sioux City. Le Mars has a paved recreational trail system that meanders for over 10 miles on the northwest side of the city. The trail extends from the west end of the Le Mars Municipal Golf Course to Key Avenue.
South of where the trail wraps around the golf course, the trail goes through Le Mars Municipal Park, then meanders alongside the banks of Willow Creek and Floyd River. The trail tucks under Highway 75, then follows Floyd River going past Riverview Park and West Floyd Park. The recreational trail wraps around the south side of the Le Mars Municipal Airport then alongside 195th Street. It crosses Highway 75 at street level to end at Key Avenue, 1/5 mile north of 200th Street.
