Regional Trails

The Palatka to St. Augustine State Trail is an 8.5-mile long paved trail that is located in the northeastern portion of Florida. The trail was constructed along an abandoned railroad right-of-way and goes through the thickly wooded areas in this rural part of the state.

There are plans for a total of 19 miles of paved trail to travel though St. Johns and Putnam Counties. This would expand the completed section to the southwest towards Palatka and to the northeast towards St. Augustine.

End Points

The southwest end of the Palatka to St. Augustine State Trail is located along State Road 207 at Beach Road in Elkton. There is no parking at this location.

The northeast end of the trail is located at a point 0.4 miles along the old railroad right-of-way to the southwest of Interstate 95 on the outskirts of St. Augustine. This location is not near any roadways and does not have any parking.
