The Palatka to St. Augustine State Trail is an 18-mile long route that is located in the northeastern portion of Florida. There is a total of 16.2-miles of paved pathway that have been completed. The trail was constructed along an abandoned railroad right-of-way and goes through the thickly wooded areas in this rural part of the state.

The trail has been completed in two separate sections with a gap between Hastings and Spuds. There is a 7.6-mile long paved pathway from the east side of Palatka to the west side of Hastings. The other 8.6-mile long completed section of the trail extends from Spuds to a point north of Vermont Heights and just west of I-95.

Conditions

The Palatka to St. Augustine State Trail is paved the entire rout and open for bike riding and walking. Portions of the trail are located adjacent to city streets, but other portions are located away from roadways.

End Points

There are two completed sections to the Palatka to St. Augustine State Trail.

The 7.6-mile long eastern section spans between Palatka and Hastings. The western end of this section is located at N. 1st Street and Reid Street on the western side of the Memorial Bridge that spans the St. Johns River in Palatka. The eastern end of the trail is located at Maryfield Lane near E. Church Avenue on the west side of Hastings.

The eastern section of the trail spans between Spuds and a point to the north of Vermont Heights. The southwest end of this section of the trail is located along State Road 207 at Beach Road in Elkton. There is no parking at this location. The northeast end of this section is located at a point 0.4 miles along the old railroad right-of-way to the southwest of Interstate 95 on the outskirts of St. Augustine. This location is not near any roadways and does not have any parking.
