Regional Trails

The Larkin State Park Trail is a 10.5-mile long unpaved pathway located in Southwestern Connecticut. The trail is located in the countryside to the east of Southbury. Constructed along an abandoned railroad right-of-way, the trail travels through dense woodlands and crosses several creeks and streams.

The trail goes through miles of forested areas next to residential neighborhoods and the Waterbury-Oxford Airport.


The Larkin State Park Trail is not paved and is open for bike riding, hiking and horseback riding. Crosscountry skiing is allowed in winter months. Conditions of the trail may vary.


The Larkin State Park Trail goes past Southbury, Oxford, Naugatuck and Middlebury.

End Points

The west end of the Larkin State Park Trail is located at Kettletown Road 1/3 mile to the southeast of Interstate 84.

The east end of the trail is located along State Route 63 north of Naugatuck.
