The Rillito River Park Trail is a system of paved and soft-surfaced trails that follow the banks of the riverbed for the Rillito River for over 12 miles. The trail crosses the north side of the urban Tucson area from Interstate 10 to N. Craycroft Road. These trails are open for bikes, walking, dogs, and equestrian use (in areas allowed). The Rillito River Park Trail is part of "The Loop" system of trails. The condition of the trail varies from hard surface to soft-surface on both banks of the river and may not be suitable for all bikes. There are few street intersections with underpasses and access paths for most major roadways.
Conditions
The Rillito River Trail is mostly paved with asphalt, but there are unpaved sections and a good chance of sand along the trail. The trail is open for bike riding, walking and running. There are numerous access points along the trail.
The trail follows both sdies of the river channel. To cross to the other side of the channel, trail users must use local streets.

The Rillito River Park Trail goes past the following parks and other points of interest: Rillito River Park, Dan Felix Memorial Park, Flowing Wells Par, Curtis Park, Rio Vista Natural Resource Park, Brandi Fenton Memorial Park and the George Mehl Foothills District Park,
End Points
The west end of the south bank Rillito River Park Trail is located on the west side of Interstate 10 at the junction with the Santa Cruz River Bikeway. This point is next to the I-10 Frontage Road, 0.7-miles south of W. Orange Grove Road. The trail heads to the east and passes under the interstate.
The west end of the north bank Rillito River Park Trail is located at the Ethan Crossing Trailhead on W. River Road, 0.4-miles south of W. Orange Grove Road.
The east end of the Rillito River Park Trail is at N. Craycroft Road, 3/4 of a mile north of E. Glenn Street.
